One of my biggest dreams of living in NYC was having the opportunity to attend NYFW some day. It feels unreal my dream came true so soon! Other than learning,I hope to make the most of this experience and expand my social circle at the same time ;) To be honest, I knew nothing about fashion shows before I joined their team as an intern for NYFW haha =P The whole process of interning for Fashion Week was incredibly tedious. I sent over fifty resumes and cover letters to prospective companies. I can still remember how excited I was when I received my call from the production company that accepted me for the internship!! hehehehhe Some of the labels I will be working with include: Marc Jacobs, Edun, Victoria Beckham, Diesel, Rag & Bone...etc. OMG...New York Fashion Week… I’m so thrilled to see what you’re all about…ahhh! I experienced the transformation of an empty warehouse to an extravagant show by the staff’s own sweat and tears. I still remember the day I woke up at 4am to get ready to leave my apt at 5am after studying till three that morning…I thought, why am I putting myself through all this shit?!!! I wanna go back to my bed soooooo bad!” Interns were in charge of clean-up, stage set up, clothes steaming, and running errands which were not so pleasant... My favorite role was being a receptionist. It was super fun talking to the media, guests and VIPs of the show. Overall, it was a fun week-long adventure. I made some cool friends (even though most were incredibly bitchy & rude), assisted some hot models (some even naked!! =O), took a sneak peak of the notoriously hard-to-access backstage life of fashion shows, and met celebrities such as Nicki Minaj, Naomi Campbell, and Sting, along with some famous bloggers! It was definitely an exciting and dynamic experience…I ♥ NYFW!!!!
